I’m pleased to announce that my next interview is with another kind of event photographer. Andrew and Staci Ryback or Andrew Ryback Photography were fun to talk with last night and I came away with some ideas for my own business.
Andrew went from picking up a digital camera around 2003, to dating a girl with a horse (ha-it will get you every time), taking pictures of her jumping her horse, to doing a couple shows on weekends for two years then BOOM…… full-time equine event and portrait photographer shooting between 50 and 60 shows per year and growing with local equine and other portrait shoots as well in between shows.
All three of us talked about their history and their business as Staci contributes a lot on the sales end of the business with her own experience as an equestrian jumper and family history of entrepreneurs. Andrew’s and Staci’s team of young and old photographers are very popular among riders for their outstanding customer service experience and beautiful images. Equestrians hug them when they see them and their shiny aluminum old style mobile home trailer where riders can come and see their images and make purchases on site (on site selection) while their rider experience is still fresh and exciting in their minds.
